From the point of believing it’s gluten intolerance:
After a few weeks we started to see loose frothy stools again L I thought maybe we were looking at multiple layer food intolerances. We removed the dairy and soy again (since that had been the advice of the woman who did the saliva test. Things got better for a while, and then began to deteriorate again. (By deteriorate I mean poops got farther apart and softer and softer). I started looking into systemic Candida. I believe, now, that that is part of the problem, if not the main one. I also think leaky gut syndrome may be a possibility. I have now removed most sugar from his diet, excepting a little maple syrup, honey or some organic ketchup. We are working toward complete removal, but it is very hard on Elias. He won’t eat. He is a very poor eater in the 1st place. He eats very few vegetables -potatoes and some beans (pinto and red kidney beans) are the only vegetable’s he eats willingly. He gets some others when I hide them. He only likes to chew up grapes and apples, and then spit them out. The only fruit he will willingly eat is bananas. We have cut those completely out now though. I know fruit is not ok on a Candida diet, but it’s hard to say no hen he cries to chew up an apple at the store. It’s better than what he used to cry for (doughnuts). We are working on that too. He hates meat.
Other notes: He is absolutely reactive to prunes and plums; we never let him near those. They were also on the list of intolerances returned by the saliva test.
Hernia surgery followed by night terrors
Current Supplements: I ordered custom probiotics, but I have not found a way to hide them that he doesn’t discover. He can smell them in the water. I tried peanut butter before I realized that was a problem. He takes strawberry probiotics that are milk free but not sugar free.
I recently began vitamin D, and Echinacea ( we have bad winters),
He takes gummy vitamins. Again, not ideal, I know, but his eating habits are so bad that I worry a lot. We definitely have iron issues too (I and my daughter, so I worry more about him)
There is probably more relevant information, but I can’t think of it right now. Maybe our discussion will help that out.
